Mashad Organization: Urgent Call to Save Sudanese Refugees – An Impending Humanitarian Catastrophe in Neighboring Countries

Mashad Organization is following with deep concern and heavy hearts the escalating humanitarian tragedy affecting hundreds of thousands of Sudanese refugees in neighboring countries, particularly in Chad. The situation is deteriorating at an alarming rate amid the absence of the most basic necessities for a dignified life. These civilians, driven from their homes by the fires of war and burdened with exhausted bodies and wounded souls, now find themselves trapped in a grim reality where clean water, food, medicine, and shelter are scarce, and where the very means of survival are rapidly disintegrating under the weight of despair and slow death.

Painful setbacks in the scale and quality of humanitarian response, suspension of funding, and failure of many international and humanitarian entities to honor their previous commitments have created a catastrophic reality. Refugee families are besieged by hunger, malnutrition, and disease, with no real signs of imminent relief. Our field teams, through verified and detailed reports, have documented the deaths of more than 266 civilians since the beginning of May alone — the majority being children and women — due to malnutrition and the spread of disease, in a context of complete inability to provide medical care and essential services.

Faced with this humanitarian collapse, many refugees have been left with no choice but to risk their lives in perilous journeys into the unknown in search of a morsel of food or a drop of clean water. This desperate exodus reflects the profound hopelessness gripping these forgotten communities across borders and barbed wire. In light of this tragic scene, Mashad Organization issues an urgent and heartfelt humanitarian appeal to the African Union, the League of Arab States, the United Nations and its relevant agencies, as well as to all regional and international humanitarian organizations and compassionate actors around the world, to act immediately and decisively to save thousands of lives before an even greater disaster unfolds.

The silence of the world in the face of this suffering is a stain on the conscience of humanity. It places the international community before a profound moral and historical test that can no longer afford delay or neglect. Human duty demands that consciences awaken, that hands reach out, and that the plight of this forgotten people be placed at the forefront of global concern. The voice of the refugees must not remain unheard, their dignity must not be forgotten, and their lives must not be left to the mercy of slow death.

Let us stand for humanity in Sudan—before the last remaining hope is lost.
