Mashad Organization implemented a large-scale environmental awareness and sanitation campaign aimed at protecting the environment and promoting public health in Al-Dabbah Locality (IDP Camps) in Northern State, Sudan. The initiative reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting displaced communities and addressing the environmental and health risks that threaten civilians’ well-being.The campaign continued for two consecutive days and targeted several vital locations within the displacement camps and surrounding areas, including schools, residential compounds, health facilities, and service centers, in addition to public spaces where civilians frequently gather. The activities focused on removing waste and sources of environmental pollution, alongside conducting community awareness initiatives to promote the importance of public cleanliness and encourage healthy practices that help prevent the spread of diseases.This initiative aims to reduce environmental factors that may contribute to the spread of diseases within displacement camps and to help create a safer and healthier environment for residents, particularly in light of the complex humanitarian conditions facing displaced communities amid the ongoing crisis in Sudan.Mashad Organization affirms that this campaign forms part of a broader series of humanitarian and community initiatives implemented across various regions to respond to urgent humanitarian needs and improve health and environmental conditions for civilians, especially the most vulnerable populations living in displacement camps.The organization also expresses its deep appreciation to the volunteers and members of the local community whose efforts contributed to the success of the campaign, reaffirming its commitment to continuing such initiatives in cooperation with partners and local communities in order to protect the environment, promote public health, and build more resilient and aware communities capable of addressing environmental and health challenges.
