Mashad Participates in the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and Calls for the International Designation of the Rapid Support Forces and Allied Militias as Terrorist Organizations
The Mashad Organization for Human Rights and Humanitarian Development announces its participation in the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled to convene on Tuesday, September 23, with a high-level delegation from the Organization’s leadership.
This participation reflects Mashad’s growing role as a human rights and humanitarian actor and a recognized partner within the multilateral system, in line with its strategic vision to amplify the presence and voices of peoples in international forums.
During the session, Mashad will focus its interventions on highlighting the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe and the systematic violations unfolding in Sudan and the wider region, including external interventions that have exacerbated the conflict and prolonged civilian suffering. The Organization will call on the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities by halting these practices, holding perpetrators accountable, and moving towards the international designation of the Rapid Support Forces and all armed militias responsible for violations as terrorist organizations—given their documented record of grave crimes against humanity and blatant breaches of international humanitarian law.
Mashad will also dedicate special attention to core issues related to just peace and human rights, stressing that addressing the root causes of conflicts and achieving comprehensive justice constitute the primary gateway to establishing sustainable stability and ensuring a secure future for coming generations.
The Organization reaffirms its deep commitment to working with the United Nations system and the international community at large to uphold human dignity, safeguard fundamental rights, and strengthen the foundations of just and lasting peace that fulfill the peoples’ aspirations for justice, freedom, and security.
