إن القرار الذي اعتمده مجلس حقوق الإنسان اليوم بشأن ما يجري في الفاشر يعكس إخفاقًا خطيرًا في الاضطلاع بالواجبات الدولية، ويشكّل خطوة تُقارب التواطؤ مع الجناة أكثر مما تعبّر عن حماية للضحايا. فالأحداث المروّعة في الفاشر لا تحتاج إلى لجان تقصّي حقائق شكلية، بل إلى آليات مستقلة بحق، بعيدة عن تأثيرات التمويل السياسي للدول المتورّطة في إشعال الحرب، وقادرة على إنفاذ القانون الدولي ومحاسبة المسؤولين عن الانتهاكات دون مساومة أو انتقائية.

The decision adopted today by the Human Rights Council regarding the situation in El Fasher reflects a serious failure to uphold its international obligations and amounts to a step that edges closer to complicity with the perpetrators than to protecting the victims. The atrocities committed in El Fasher do not require another superficial fact-finding committee, but rather genuinely independent mechanisms—free from the political and financial influence of states fueling the war in Sudan—capable of enforcing international law and ensuring accountability for those responsible for the violations without compromise or selectivity
