Support of War Victims in Sudan

The Mashad Organization for Human
Rights and Humanitarian Development carried out an official visit to the headquarters of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights in Banjul, The Gambia, where it submitted a complaint on behalf of the victims of the war in Sudan. The complaint is based on findings documented in reports issued by the United Nations and international committees concerning the support provided to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their allied militias.

During the meeting, the Organization expressed its confidence in the vital role of the African Commission as a key regional mechanism for the protection of human rights. It underscored the importance of the Commission assuming its responsibilities in standing with the Sudanese people, upholding the principles of justice and accountability, and ensuring remedies and reparations for victims and those affected. The Organization also stressed the need to keep the Sudanese issue at the forefront of the African agenda, thereby reinforcing the values of human solidarity and reflecting the continent’s commitments to peace and justice.

Mashad Organization affirms that it will continue its efforts to defend human rights in Sudan, coordinating with regional and international partners to ensure the voices of victims are heard, and strengthening justice mechanisms in a way that meets the peoples’ aspirations for a safer and more dignified future.
